Phase 1: Hydrographic Foundations

Candidates master sound propagation basics, thermal layer mechanics, and acoustic shadow identification. Requires completion of 40 hours of classroom learning.

Phase 2: Tactical Towfish Deployment

Practical application on unit watercraft. Focuses on setting optimal towfish altitudes, handling multi-beam sonar arrays, and maintaining uniform vessel heading under current pressure.

Phase 3: Real-Time Imagery Interpretation

Advanced data parsing software labs. Training focuses on pinpointing metallic anomalies, skeletal remains signatures, and distinguishing structural components from organic debris.
