North Alabama Sonar Search and Rescue (NASSR) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to locating and rescuing individuals in their moments of greatest need. Built on a foundation of elite training and community service, our highly skilled team responds to emergencies across the region’s most unforgiving environments. No matter how challenging the water or terrain, we are committed to bringing answers and safety to families and local agencies.

Our specialized capabilities allow us to operate where standard rescue efforts cannot, utilizing advanced technical skills to navigate the elements:

• Advanced Sonar Technology: High-tech subsurface imaging to scan deep, zero-visibility waters and accurately locate targets.
• Swift Water Rescue: Elite tactical response to navigate fast-moving currents, flooded environments, and hazardous waterways.
• Rope Rescue: Specialized vertical high-angle rigging to access and extract individuals from cliffs, bluffs, and steep drop-offs.
• Cave Extractions: Expert wilderness navigation to safely locate and retrieve individuals trapped deep within complex subterranean cave systems.
